Treacle & Dark Ale, liquoricey bacon.
Pronounced [Dark Doo loch] and a happy recipient of 1 Gold Star at the 2017 Great Taste Awards (in its' Lardon form). Literally means 'Dark Black Loch' and the colour of an old friends eyes.
Traditionally dry cured, cold smoked Treacle & Dark Ale bacon. This #Epicbacon is also a TV star. Dark liquoricey treacleness bursting with calm flavours, beautifully smooth and well rounded - a wonderful flavour profile! Exquisite taste with superior fine fat for an incredible yum munching sensation.
Allergens: Minute traces of Gluten, Garlic
Cooking: Done in 60 seconds flat - high heat, frying pan, no oil, 30 seconds side one and 30 seconds side two is how we like it. Put on the extractor fan! Doesn't take long, seriously this is a different beast than you may be used to treat as you would a loved one.
Pairing: Beef burgers, mussels, wrapped around scallops. Noshed on a roll is good too. Stuffed into chicken, drinkified in Gazpacho or flash fried for a quick family snackcident....anything, mix it up folks.
History: Said to be favoured by the ancient Celtic warlords from around here. Mainly eaten to give strength and insight and was the weapon of choice before the Celts kicked Roman ass at Mons Grapus just over the hill, a 'faodail', traditional, ancient, secret recipe. Made its contemporary incarnation debut at BrewDog AGM 2016 where it was issued as Jet Black Assassin and later as Jack Kerouac's Kiss at the Brew Dog Beatnik Brew Day - 2016. Featured on BBC Radio "Out of Doors' and acclaimed on BBC2s' Best in Shop TV show - go on and try it, it's cracking!
